Appalatin presented by Ironton Council for the Arts

The Ironton Council for the Arts presents Appalatin, a Louisville-based ensemble whose all-acoustic sound brings together Appalachian folk and high-energy Latin music. The group grew out of an unlikely meeting of Kentucky-raised musicians and Latin émigrés from Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Guatemala, and their instrumentation reflects it: guitar, mandolin, upright bass, charango, indigenous Andean flutes, hand percussion, and harmonica, all woven together with vocal harmonies. Tickets are $15 at the door. Students and children are admitted free. Season subscriptions covering all six ICA performances are available for $50.
