Game Night

A drop-in game night for all residents (open invitation), held in The Verge lobby. The space will be set up with two stations: a console area running party-style multiplayer games on the lobby TV, using my personal PlayStation 5 console and controllers. An additional 2 controllers are requested from the Dabney community for 4 player games. Additionally, there will be a table area with board and card games for residents who would rather not play video games. Snacks and juice will be available throughout. The event will be held in a low commitment format - residents can arrive at any time, stay for twenty minutes or two hours, and participate at whatever level they want. October is the point in the semester where most students have their routines set and residents who did not connect early tend to stay disconnected. A drop-in event with food and no entry barrier gives those residents an easy way to join, and residents who already know each other have a reason to be in a shared space rather than in their units.
