Lest We Forget: Silent Voices shares firsthand accounts from individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, advocates and professionals. The film examines the history of institutionalization in the United States and the movement toward dignity, inclusion and community-based support. It reveals a little-known chapter of the disability rights movement while honoring the voices of those whose stories have too often gone unheard. Following the screening, guests are invited to remain for a moderated panel discussion featuring disability professionals, self-advocates, and community members who will reflect on the film's themes and explore the progress that has been made, as well as the work that continues to ensure equitable opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. The program will conclude with an audience Q&A, offering space for thoughtful dialogue, shared experiences, and deeper engagement with disability history, advocacy, and inclusion.
