Join the George Rogers Clark Heritage Association near the monument on the hill behind the Hertzler House for a special ceremony. This event remembers the Battle of Peckuwe, the biggest Revolutionary War battle fought west of the Allegheny Mountains. The battle happened right here on August 8, 1780, between American troops and the British-allied Shawnee.
